Still Summer
20. June 2008 11:30
Folks I’m back, that time again to write a blog.  Like usual things hasn’t change much except the weather.  It’s gotten really hot compared to what it usually is, I guess people can say it’s because of all that global warming stuff, and it’s also really humid here because it has rained a lot; not one of those all day storms just a hit and run storm.  I’m still working in admissions for the school, today is a different day though because I get to fill in the front desk. Yes! Well not really that excited about it but hey it’s not too bad I guess better than filing all day, and plus there isn’t any tours for the day which makes it not as fun.  Summer school is almost over and that’s coming along really well so far I have like a really high B and I just aced my test from Thursday so I think I can pull an A in that class which is awesome considering I’m not that great at science most of the time.  Then after I dominate that class I move on to Summer II and I’ll be taking a history class but I really enjoy history so that class should go pretty smoothly.  My normal week on average goes class, work, workout and sleep.  And of course there is food between all of that, but so far that’s what my summer has been like, I did go home last week to see family and friend’s I had a blast, went to the lake two days in a row, also had a kicking camp that I helped out with and it was amazing to see kids that I have seen kick before improve so much and as well as other college kickers showing up to help out and having the opportunity to kick against them in a competition which was fun as well.  Now I’m back to a normal week, I do plan on doing that more often as far as going home and go to the lake as long as the budget allows that.  Gas isn’t cheep either for those things, stinking gas, just thinking about gas upsets me because it’s way to expensive and it should be a lot lower than what it really is.  Anyways folks that’s pretty much it for now, until then.

Summer Life
6. June 2008 16:06
Well folks it’s me again, summer is underway and it’s hot!  It feels like it’s over 100 outside but in all reality it isn’t but that’s Texas.  Summer I has started and I’m taking good ole biology.  Being a history major I’m not the biggest fan of science because you’re always looking for the answer when in history the answer is already there which makes life a lot simpler.  In July Summer II will start and that’s when I’ll be taken a history class which is over the U.S. in World War Era , I’m looking forward to that since my professor who I have had before, is a good professor who knows his stuff!  Sports wise, things have finally calm down here at McMurry which isn’t always a good thing because it was nice to have sports and events going on now everybody is out and about.  Although I’m just a kick I still workout as much as possible and if there is a possibility of me playing wide receiver then I want to be in the best shape as possible for that job but I do plan on kicking regardless unless something were to change. Work wise, I’m still doing the tour guide as well as being a summer ra.  I do miss my old job considering it always kept me busy as well as paid very well.  Other than that there isn’t much to say; so folks until next time.

McM Summer
15. May 2008 15:51
Summer has arrived and things here at McMurry have changed a great deal.  I finished up the semester with the not so loveable finals, but the finals turned out to be not to bad I went out with a bang, knowing that I did good even though I only studied for one of the test, I mean I did look over my notes but not study hardcore.  Football wise, we finished up spring ball which turned out to be not as bad as I thought it was going to be.  One awesome thing that did come from that is the fact that I got to play wide receiver, so I came out of retirement to school some of our defensive backs and which made practice go by a whole lot better. Then I would go workout after work in the afternoon’s and kick, but as far as the wide receiver goes I can chose to play next season. As far as special events goes, McMurry’s baseball team was the number one team in conference and therefore we got to host the conference tournament here at Driggers field.  The team did end up finishing first which made them the conference champions and they are currently in the process of hosting the regional tournament.  Now that school is out, not a lot of people stayed here in town.  More people are expected to return around June to start summer school.  One of the reasons why I stayed was because they hired me to be a summer ra and to continue to give tours to students and when June rolls around as well I too will take summer school so my plans are semi busy for now, and of course the friends that did stay here as well I’m constantly over at their house all the time unless I’m on duty. For the extracurricular activities, being a member of Ko Sari we won’t meet again as a club until school starts back but there is some stuff underway and it is like that I’m sure for all the other clubs as well.  Intramurals came to an end as soon as finals started.  So for now McMurry is a little quiet and resting up for next year’s freshman class, also it feels good to never be a freshman ever again.  Well that’s about it.

Busy once more
20. April 2008 19:35
Well folks I know it’s been awhile since I’ve wrote but consider this one a make up for last week and this coming week.  Things here at McMurry have been crazy since spring break.  I guess I’ll cover what’s happing academic wise.  Well nothing actually school is school, doesn’t change much except finals are quickly creeping up on all of us students here, but we shall be ready.  FYI I had all A’s in every class during mid terms but I seriously doubt it stays that way but I will try.  Sports wise, football has started spring ball, practice starts at 5:45 in the morning and yes the kicker is still require to go which isn’t cool at all, but I did come out of retirement and play some receiver all I got to say is, I still can some moves left in me.  Overall I know we are getting better and should be able to show it come next season.  Social Clubs have been really active this semester and new members are really into it as well.  Last weekend we the 50th annual T.I.P (T.I.P is a women’s social club) Sing Song.  Sing Song is where each club must sing and dance to two songs of their choosing.  Ko Sari did Bust a Move, and Tricky which happen to earn us the Best Stage Presence award which is really good, it’s almost like 2nd place in my books.  Gamma Sigma (GS is another women’s social club) had their annual field day as well, in which the clubs competed in events like egg throwing, water balloon throwing, three legged races and stuff like that. Just so happens KS got second and there were only 5 of us so that is pretty good.  Now this coming weekend is even better.  All the older clubs are having their banquets in which I’ll be attending which I’m really excited!  The first one I’m going too is the Delta Beta Banquet which is on Friday with a beautiful girl, Saturday is also the T.I.P Banquet, beautiful too, and Sunday is the Ko Sari Picnic. At the picnic we eat some good brisket, play volleyball and have a good time of course since it’s a picnic.   Also on that same Saturday as one of the banquet is Spring McMaddness/McFeista.  Its where you go play games, jousting, those blow up things that kids get in, free food and drinks, live music, all of that will be here at McMurry it’s just a great way to release stress right before finals.  Summer is coming quick, I’m staying here at McMurry to take some summer classes, give tours as well, and hang out some awesome friends as well.  Summer is going to a little different since this is the first summer here in Abilene.  I’m kind of glad even though Stephenville is nice and all but I think I might actually enjoy.  Until next time.

Back Once More
1. April 2008 18:15
Well I got bad news……school has started once again but it’s ok I guess at least I know I’m not the only person in the world going back to school.  Spring was a stinking blast I don’t know how else to explain it.  Snowboarding in Red River, New Mexico was pretty fun even though there wasn’t a lot of snow I had a good time pegging my step brother with snow balls as well as plowing him with snow when I came down the mountain.  It was still nice to know that I’m still young enough to do that stuff, my dad tried to ski….key word “tried” but I know he enjoyed being there.  Did you know that at everywhere we ate in New Mexico a automatic 18% tip was charged to the ticket, now if you ask me that’s not fair because the waiter can be totally awful in which one case that happen to us.  Another reason why the lone star state is better.  I spent a total of 3 days at home and those three days I actually accomplished something, three things.  One I got all my laundry done which was amazing and did it by myself and second I dominated at halo 3 which I have never played online, and third I took a group of people out to this place and had my best friend go get lost and while we waited in my truck I pretended everything was ok while he snuck up and scared everyone else. Yeah I did that two nights in a row but it was raining the second day so no attempts there to go hide.  As for school now, I’m a official member of Ko Sari which is stinking amazing.  Spring ball has started for the football team including the kicker which is me for those who don’t know. As for classes well It seems I did really well on my mid terms somehow and I guess all that studying was worth it.  Intramural soccer has started and we have a game tonight and we are undefeated even though we have only played one game but hey we crushed that team and had fun doing it.  Well I looked it up the other day and it’s only like 5 more weeks of school before finals and I’m really excited about that because I’m ready for the summer already so I can work even though my job back home is not totally open due to the economy and gas prices (which by the way are outrages).  I could possibly get a job here in Abilene but who knows only time will tell.  Also I just found out how fun it is to sing on rock band even if you’re a terrible singer like I was, it was still a blast.  Well that’s all I gots for today. Have Nice Day Yell

Spring Break fixing to start
11. March 2008 19:35
Ok well so this week is going by so slow.  So much has happen this semester, I’m going to recap it all and speed through what just happened. Not too long ago was the annual jousting hosted by the Knight of Ko Sari which was a blast, so that explains my picture (no one got hurt, all fun and games).  This semester has been the most stressful I would say.  Mid terms are here and all my classes are fairly hard, so the tests are't fun I actually have one tomorrow but oh well…..football offseason is in full swing, and as a kicker I’m doing just as much work as anyone else. But to be honest I’m working a lot harder than some, so I can’t wait till the season to start so I can prove people wrong once again.  Spring ball starts one week after spring break, but as a kicker all I do is kick so that won’t be bad.  Pledging is supposed to be over ,hopefully, pledging is fun but I would never want to do it again. I’ll be a member of Ko Sari which to me is the greatest club, but all clubs are cool but you get the point.  Being a tour guide is still the best, I love giving tours and getting to show off this campus.  Spring break well that’s right around the corner and I’m so ready for it now. I'll be going home for a couple of days, and then to the snow plowing I go.  Once again I’m writing this blog in study hall because I have no work because I usually do my work in my room hence forth home work.  Summer I can’t wait as well for it to be here, if I get my job back in Stephenville which was water well service which pays really really good then I’m going home, but if I don’t I’m staying and getting a job here and going to take summer school so I can graduate quicker and start on with my life and settle and relax for once.  I feel like I’m getting old already my body is starting to hurt more and more every day I must be old!   Well time flew by today in study hall and I have to go study for my wonderful mid term for exploring the visual arts.  Until next time folks.

Something to pass Study Hall
5. March 2008 02:16

Ok, so I’m in football study hall (it’s a study hall that’s required for all freshman even if they have a high GPA).  And since I do all my homework when I’m suppose to i have nothing else to do so since I didn’t write a blog last week I’m doing it now for last week and this week to catch everybody back up.  Last week was insane lots of tours and lots of stuff to get done before the weekend but it felt great once it was all over, as well as knowing you felt like you accomplished so much.  Weekend was once again short as always and now I’m so stoked about spring break.  I don’t remember if I wrote this down but I’m going snowboard, yeh boyee.  Anyways before I go on a danger adventure I have to finish school which includes mid terms, I took one on Monday it was one of those test you think you did good but you really didn’t but hey I think I did good (but who knows).  Friday I have a history test but I’m a stallion when it comes to history, the week before we get out I have my last two test which are art which is a class I truly like because of the way it’s taught and I have my intro to Christianity which isn’t going to be that hard because I’ll have time to study.  Now on to the important issue which is Ko Sari well all I have to say is pledging is almost over and I’m ready to be a member don’t get me wrong but pledging is fun but I’ll never want to do it again.  Football is same ol same ol, still a kicker, still wished I was still playing wide receiver like in the golden days; I am getting a lot stronger which is pretty sweet.  I had something completely random today and it was awesome….a grilled cheese.  The weather well it’s Texas weather One day it was super cold and then the next so awesome I felt like running a mile but I didn’t ha like I was really going to run.   So I was just now thinking I don’t know if this blog is going to be good because Holly isn’t here to critique me on how awful of a writer I am but hey I like to flow.  Well I guess I’ll talk about what I’m learning after all I am in college.  In History we are learning the early 1920’s and I could go in depth but it’s best not too and for the reader’s sake.  In intro to Christianity we are talking about the protestant reformation which is pretty cool to learn there is a lot of stuff I am learning in that class that I thought I wouldn’t learn.  And English well we are studying poetry which could be useful because I might need to use poetry when I’m in a bad situation with a girl, I could use poetry to make it all good, kinda like icing on a cake it’s always good.  Well I heard a funny story today and it was the greatest thing of all time,  my friend (we will call him BOB) goes to Tarleton state University and he has several classes today; well do to his level of stress I’m sure ;) before his last class he stuck a sign saying class was canceled and a lot of people left and I thought that was awesome, McMurry’s classes are too small to ever pull something that sweet off but I thought it was the greatest thing ever done, better than Napoleon selling Louisiana to the United States.  Bob will more than likely get away with it because he is a stallion too.  Interesting fact I just thought of, did you know you can go to Taco Bell and get a drink, two chalupas, a taco, and a bean burrito with extra red sauce for under 5 bucks, last time I checked that was cheep oh and it was good yet it wasn’t good the next morning for football but I won’t go into details about that.   Well folks study hall is over and now I’m going to more than likely go play an amazing song on Rock Band as well as sleep, considering I love sleeping.  I'm just so tired of getting up just to lift so I can kick a ball.  That’s all I gots.

P.S. i'll talk about this picture next time

Best Week Ever!
22. February 2008 07:03

This week has been a crazy!  Pledging season is underway and being a pledge of the best social club on campus (Ko Sari) is so far a stressful task yet the greatest time of my life.  They all say “Pledging season is something that you enjoy that you will never want to do again.”  Besides that football off-season is still at full throttle, it’s not the hardest thing I’ve ever done but very tiresome.  Back in my hometown (Stephenville) things have clamed down with the whole UFO drama, now it’s the government that’s telling the truth about what was going on, so now I’m starting to get my pride back for my hometown!  The new drama that is taking place is a new head football coach and that’s a big deal considering football is god over there.  School is going good, except for art I’m not all for wavy lines and straight lines being considered art as well as busy work that is assigned every day, but my history, English and intro to Christianity is always fun and good.  Something new that has happened at McMurry is the café has hired some new managers and the food is starting to have flavor and tasting really good!  Spring is pretty much here because it’s getting warm outside and it’s not bad at night but we did have a few thunderstorms not to long ago and that was awful because we had preview day and I had to give tours and I was soaked but I did get to meet some “pretty” cool people. Vedy Nice!!!  I do love my job though because I am an amazing tour guide but I was taught by the former best, the old saying “out with the old, in with the new.”  I can’t wait for Spring Break because I’m going skiing at Red River, New Mexico with my family to show them how it’s done.  I also can’t wait for football season because my leg is back in prime and I feel like a can kick like a mile over the mountains but I do miss the old days when I played wide receiver where I would score and then score again with the extra point so I used to rack up some points back in the golden days.  Besides off-season workouts I have my own workouts when it comes to kicking, I’m also trying to help a kid with his kicking because it helps me practice coaching as well as just helping someone out, he has a lot of work to do still.  Next season I’ll have to compete for the punting job but as for as the kicking goes, as long as I get a good snap, good blocks, and a good hold, I’m money every time, I do plan to be all conference!  As far the living on my own in the dorm, that’s coming to an end, I’m getting a room mate hopefully is cool and doesn’t jack with my stuff.  I do have the coolest dorm room if I hadn’t mention that already.  I watched a movie with Denzel Washington, I forgot the title but it was an awesome movie, all I know is it took place in Mexico and I’m more than likely going to buy it or download it (legally of course)!  Well that’s all folks!

January 29 2008

So this week has gone underway, and it is perhaps one of the weeks I’ll never forget.  As a football player this is my second week of off-season and yet it is beneficial not to only me but as a team, and even though I’m just the kicker I still do everything the team does because I believe that’s what it’s going to take to win games, is to be equal.  Now as for being the student classes are going even better considering I only have 12 hours (4 classes) and I’m making good grades in all so far. f  As for a student who participates in extra activities, social clubs are underway with their smokers.  Smokers are where fish gather and the clubs get to know who you are so they can place a bid if they want you in their club or not.  I’ve been invited to every club so that is pretty awesome but I’m pretty sure I already know who I’m pledging but as for the readers reading this I can’t say because it’s classified information.  As a working student I work on campus in the admissions office and I’m a tour guide who happens to be the newest, and the best. There is a saying out with the old in with the new.  Well until next time folks!
