Parents
Your son’s or daughter’s education is important.
Helping your son or daughter navigate the college application process can be a challenge. But at McMurry University, we’ve created a community that can help you find the answers you’re seeking. Get advice from other college parents or ask a faculty or staff member questions. We see our students’ parents as our partners, and we understand how important your son’s or daughter’s college decision is.
While there are many aspects that support an enriching educational experience, we have provided some key areas that you, as a parent, may want to consider when determining the right college for your son or daughter.
Values and Academics
McMurry University is built on a set of five core values and a mission to provide your student with a Christian liberal arts and professional education. We work to prepare our students for a fulfilling life of service and leadership.
Financial Support
Financial considerations are also at the forefront of the college decision. We encourage you to explore the wide range of scholarships, awards, grants, work programs and other avenues available in financing your son’s or daughter’s education. You may use our financial aid calculator to learn more about the cost of a McMurry education, as well as the options available.
Campus Safety and Security
Campus safety and security are a high priority for your student and the entire campus community. As a close-knit community, security is provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Students enter the residence halls through proximity-coded cards, and only those students coded for each hall are allowed access. Our security staff provides services ranging from escorting students from buildings after dark to helping get keys out of a locked car.
Career Services
We encourage you to explore our Career Services Center where we help guide your student with programs in career counseling and testing, workshops in job searching, employment services, and special programs attracting employers statewide. Personal counseling and health and disability services are also provided to McMurry students.
