McMurry University's School of Business offers you a solid foundation in business fundamentals, stressing the interrelationship of business disciplines, with the opportunity to choose a concentration in Accounting, Computer Information Systems, Finance, General Business, Management or Marketing. Educational opportunities outside the classroom include opportunities to study international business and management techniques in London, where McMurry classes have visited insurance, energy, brokerage, hospitality and tourism businesses. During a May Term course, business students traveled to New York City and visited the New York Stock Exchange, a New York public relations firm and the Federal Reserve Bank as part of their studies. Senior business students can apply to participate in the School of Business Internship Program, where they learn through experience in the real world while making valuable contacts. Throughout your business courses, you will learn the importance of business ethics in today's global economy.

As part of the capstone experience in the School of Business, students compete in an online business strategy game in the Business Policy course. Recently, one of our teams completed the course with a ranking of 10th among more than 1,250 teams worldwide!

Graduates may go on to further study by pursuing graduate education in such areas as business or law. McMurry business graduates have furthered their education at Baylor University, Texas Tech University, the University of New Mexico, the University of Texas School of Law, Southern Methodist University's Dedman School of Law, and others. McMurry's School of Business graduates have established a chain of supermarkets, led transition teams for an international financial institution, and founded an international freight forwarding and customs brokerage business. One of McMurry’s business school graduates currently directs North American operations for a major fast food company. Career opportunities range from business ownership to corporate work, and to employment by governmental agencies or non-profit organizations.
