One of the most valuable parts of college life is your involvement, participation and membership in student activities! McMurry University offers you a wide array of opportunities to help you become involved, become a leader or affect change on campus. Make a difference and network through a variety of programs, including McMurry Student Government, national honor societies, professional organizations, intramural athletics, and over 40 service and social clubs!

The student-led Campus Activities Board hosts a number of events available to all students, including Back-to-School Film Festivals, Coffee House Open-Mic Nights in the campus center and Spring McMadness! You can play over 10 different sports in intramural athletics, competing year-round and in championship games.

You get your first opportunity to become involved at McMurry University during SOAR, where you have the chance to meet your advisor and future classmates, register for classes, and get familiar with the campus. Before classes start in August, you can attend Vision Quest - a freshmen orientation that's a great chance to become involved with a core of classmates, work on team-building skills and have a lot of fun!

Traditions also make up an important part of student life on campus. One of the most treasured McMurry traditions is the "Tipi Village" setup in Wah Wahtaysee Park over Homecoming weekend. This village becomes a social hub, including bonfires and a special Sunset Ceremony. Students stay up late, sitting around the fire, singing and talking. Later, we have the Homecoming musical, followed by the Coronation of Chief and Princess McMurry. Then the beating of the drums begins; freshmen are responsible for keeping the beat alive through the night until kickoff at the football game the next day. By keeping the drums alive, students are assuring a McMurry victory!
